About Wildnispark Zurich

Wildnispark Zurich

Wildnispark Zurich combines two main sections: Sihlwald, a large intact forest, and Langenberg, a wildlife park. Sihlwald is known for its old-growth beech and oak trees, providing a glimpse into the natural forest ecology of Switzerland. The forest is a sanctuary for a variety of wildlife, including deer, boar, and over 80 species of birds. Within Langenberg, visitors can encounter native Swiss animals, such as bears, lynxes, and wolves, in enclosures designed to mirror their natural habitats. The park encourages ecological education and conservation, offering scenic trails for hiking and opportunities for wildlife viewing. Established as a regional park in 2009, it highlights the importance of preserving natural areas close to urban centers and serves as a perfect day-trip destination from Zurich.
